Outdoor Patio Furniture

I am a BIG fan of entertaining outdoors on my patio. I believe that the right outdoor patio furniture can make a huge difference in the enjoyment that you can get dining and entertaining outdoors. There is a massive difference between old, moldy, dingy patio furniture and new, clean furniture.

My favorite type of outdoor patio furniture is teak patio furniture. Teak is a fantastic ouurdoor material due to all of its resistive properties (UV, rot/mold/mildew). I like to let some pieces stay untreaded so they fade to a nice grey color and the one that I use for my patio dining furniture I keep sealed so they stay the warm wood tone colors when you first get them.

If you are only going to get one thing for outdoor patio furniture, I recommend going with a patio dining set. These are great multi-purpose items that will become the center of your back yard entertaining activities.

One of the other items that I consider a must for Outdoor Patio Furniture is a hammock and hammock stand. This is probably just personal preference, but if you have the room a hammock is a great addition to any patio or deck. It will get used more then you might think too!

Have you ever been invited over to a person's house for brunch and they decided to sit outside in the boiling sun with no umbrella? It can get uncomfortable can't it? Patio cushions can get down right scalding hot if left in the direct sun on a hot day.  Don't make the mistake of not having a patio umbrella.

A patio umbrella can also provide shelter from a summer thunderstorm that might be temporarily rolling through. Larger market umbrellas can shelter many people at the same time and keep your picnic out of the elements as well.

A patio umbrella can also be purchased to add a complimentary or contrasting decorative item to your outdoor entertaining area. There are many choices when it comes to the colors and patterns available and they are typically made from the same heady duty material that patio cushions are made from. The key thing is to get fabric that is water, mold, mildew and UV resistant for long life.

The structure of the umbrella is another place to look to match the theme of your outdoor living area. There are a couple of common materials such as metal and wood that are strong enough for a large umbrella. The wood types used match the common patio furniture materials such as teak and cedar. Because of this commonality in materials you should be able to match right up with your current patio furniture.

You will be able to find umbrellas up to 6m in diameter, which is sure to cover lots of ground. It's always good to have an umbrella next to a poolside region as well, especially if the pool area is a popular attraction in your home. You always want your guests to be comfortable so make sure you're prepared this summer.
